Draught at Station House, Durham, UK. Golden colour, no head and aroma of mellow apple & barnyard. Taste is tart apple, apple skin, woody, leather, oaky, barnyard, with drying tannins. Medium bodied, low carbonation, dry tart tangy tannic finish. Nicely drinkable
Light fruit aroma, with a somewhat acrid character, and spiced undertones. Very gassy pour, and a rich, honeyed-golden colour.
Cooked apple and apple skin flavours develop a tannic woodiness in the mouth, with the bitterness coming through in the aftertaste.
This is a traditional Herefordshire cider (with the PGI mark to prove it), and it has character and complexity to spare.
