750ml bottle from Sainsbury's Darlington UK. Golden colour, no lasting head and aroma of apple, fruity. Taste is sweet sugary, fruity apple with light woody oak notes. Light to medium bodied, low carbonation, semi-dry slightly tannic finish. Quite OK.
Like Westons own 2016 Vintage, this is oak-aged, and this gives it character and complexity, which I suspect would otherwise be lacking. This is quite sweet, and a little too much so for my preference, but the slight bitterness from the oak makes this an acceptable drink. Deceptively strong at 7.2%.
