Henry Westons Aged Vintage 2021

UPDATE - April, 2023 (Easter Sunday) - decided to upgrade my review to 4/5. I think it’s because this cider has me in limbo - it’s ok, but not great, but it’s not average either. I still prefer the British Vintage - but that one is 7.4%ABV so harder to drink more than one like you can with this Aged Vintage version. Good, solid apple taste - it’s light but funky on the nose. It’s ‘aged’ and kept ‘up to 180 days’ - to be honest, it tastes like a glorified bottle of Sxollie Golden Delicious (South African). Light fizz, champagne colour - you could drink this one as a session cider. Edge of dryness on first taste followed by a long length of tartness on the palate and a lingering sweetness, which tastes very natural with a level of dryness, but short on taste. I expected more, but in reality, like other reviews, there is nothing remarkable here. At 6.5% it won’t blow your socks off so you can have more than one - but for me - I’ve just honestly had better.

It is light, crisp with a slight tartness. This is an enjoyable cider but I have to say it is unremarkable. I would love to receive a case of it as a gift but would I buy myself a case of it ahead of other ciders, probably not.

English style dry cider, slightly sparkling with a smooth crisp taste.
