I love these Ross-on-Wye Premium range ciders! This is a blend of oak-aged, heritage Brown Snout apples, and the young fruit from their newest Bridgewell orchard.
Just the aroma had me salivating; pungent, acrid apple, with lashings of antique oak. Light carbonation from the fermentation. The taste is silky, with a buttery edge, with the oak and tannins bursting past the soft fruit, leaving a peaty, smokiness on the palate.
Less challenging than some of their more tannic Premium range, this is a blender's masterpiece, and should be to most cider drinker's taste. Taste it, if you get the chance!
