Comes in a 750ml screwtop bottle. Aged in an Islay whisky barrel.
The Yellow Huffcap pear is hard to grow, having a tendency to rot on the tree, and does not store well, but the effort seems to be worth it!
Pale, hazy yellow, with a smoky aroma.
Sharp, tangy pear flavour, quickly becoming nutty and smoky, like the charred bit on a roasted chestnut, with a more peaty quality in the finish.
An unusual and surprising flavour, which I found very enjoyable, but may not be to everyone's taste.
